| T_SOURCE | 0 | ABSTRACT | The Regulation applies to shipments of waste, both within and into or out of the European Community, to waste transported between Member States but routed through one or more third countries, and to waste transported between third countries but routed through one or more Member States. It concerns the application by the Member States of a system of prior authorization for the shipment of waste for disposal or for recovery. A common, compulsory notification system and a standard consignment note for shipments of waste have been introduced according to the Regulation. According to Article 41(1) of the Regulation Member States shall send to the Commission a copy of the yearly report to the Basel Convention (drawn up in accordance with Article 13 (3) of the Convention). | Date of end of validity: 11/07/2007.
