| T_OBLIGATION | 0 | DESCRIPTION | Data on biology in surface waters are collected annually through the WISE-SoE data collection process. Following two test data requests in 2009 and 2010, biological data are requested as regular data flow from 2011 onwards. Reporting category "Biological quality elements in Rivers and Lakes" is integrated into reporting of Rivers/Lakes water quality starting from 2012 reporting period. Biology in Transitional and Coastal Waters was not integrated into reporting of Transitional, Coastal and Marine Waters in 2012, because many changes due to 2nd WFD intercalibration exercise are expected. The data requested on biology in transitional and coastal waters includes the physical characteristics of the transitional and coastal monitoring stations, biology in transitional and coastal waters - aggregated data, boundaries of ecological status classes in transitional and coastal waters, and waterbody biology in transitional and coastal waters. This reporting obligation is an EIONET non-Priority Data flow. | Biology data expressed in EQRs in rivers, lakes, transitional and coastal waters, provided by monitoring site and/or by water body. The classification procedure information is foreseen as stable information, so it will only be required once (2019), and updated when needed. |

The letter, templates, reporting sheet, etc. are put on the NRC EIONET Freshwater interest group library (subfolder Biological test reporting 2009) at http://forum.eionet.europa.eu/nrc-eionet-freshwater/library/wise_reporting_2009/biological_reporting The second test data request ran from 1 August until 31 October 2010 in combination with the WISE SoE data request 2010.
