Countries are requested to maintain updated lists of national designation types and individual site records. Among the attributes requested for site records, priority has been given to the geographical coordinates of the centre of the site, the size, the altitude, the category of the site according to the IUCN, the habitats included within the designated area and relationships with other sites. The European dataset based on this reporting obligation is published at:http://dataservice.eea.europa.eu/dataservice/metadetails.asp?id=829 In addition, EEA maintains a biodiversity information system at http://eunis.eea.europa.eu that provides information on species, habitats and sites in the context of European legislation. | Countries are requested to maintain updated lists of national designation types and individual site records including site boundaries. |
