Description Monitoring and reporting provide important information on the development of the NSDI (National Spatial Data Infrastructure) and INSPIRE and therefore constitute an important source of information for decisions concerning the implementation of INSPIRE Directive and for the future evolution.

Date comments The reporting date of the two sibling obligations (INSPIRE Monitoring and Reporting) is synchronized. Both have to be submitted by 15 May - one on annual cycles, the other every three years.

Extra information The INSPIRE Implementing Rule on Monitoring and Reporting (Decision 2009/442) is available from

The collected monitoring values have to be publicly available and have to be provided to the European Commission. The above mentioned implementing rule state that all the results of monitoring should be public. The implementing rules also ask Member States to publish the information on the Internet. It is also proposed that the European Commission publishes the results.
