Riverine Inputs and Direct Discharges Monitoring Programme (Agreement 2014-04)
Description
The main objectives of RID are: To assess, as accurately as possible, all river-borne and direct inputs of selected pollutants to Convention waters on an annual basis. To contribute to the implementation of the Joint Assessment and Monitoring Programme (JAMP) by providing data on inputs to Convention waters on a sub-regional and a regional level. To report these data annually to the OSPAR Commission and: a. to review these data periodically with a view to determining temporal trends; b. to review on a regular basis, to be determined by the Hazardous Substances and Eutrophication Committee (HASEC), whether RID requires revision.
The RID results are to be reported to the Secretariat by 1 November (30 November for Denmark only) each year and reviewed by the Working Group on Inputs to the Marine Environment (INPUT) or by task groups established for this purpose, through the following: Text report: The reporting template is given in Appendix II. Data report: Contracting Parties will receive the appropriate templates for data submission by e-mail at the beginning of September of the reporting year, with information on the current reporting procedure. Statistical information on river catchment areas (Appendix III).
